Growing up as the third child of seven I learned responsibilities and work habits early in life. I will never forget at the age of 11 riding my bike on the hot summer days selling Christmas cards so I could earn the points to win a string-controlled flying airplane. During the seven years I worked for Ford Motor Company in my hometown of Monroe MI, I learned excellent management skills. The next step of my career was ownership of a weight control franchise. Finally, I settled into specialized construction with the company I opened in 1984 in Fort Wayne, IN. After growing that company for a little over 20 years, I sold it to a neighboring contractor, and it continues to prosper today with two of the original employees I hired.
My family vacationed in the Keys quite a bit when I was young. The coastal beauty of this chain of tropical islands has always fascinated me along with the vast array of water activities we can enjoy year round. After purchasing a vacation home in Key Colony Beach, I knew instantly I had to live here. It took two years to restructure our responsibilities in Indiana before we could become full time Keys residents. It is actually funny that I am a Broker with my own real estate company because in my construction days I was often annoyed by some of the pushy Realtors. I fully understand customer service, construction and leadership and always strive to do what is in the best interest of our customer. Kent comes to us from Alberta, Canada. He and his beautiful wife, Bridget, have recently purchased a home here in Marathon and enjoy living in paradise and being a part of our community.
Kent has a passion for helping people.
